Move is different. As a non-profit Christian worship band, we don’t make money for what we put into the universe. Instead, we count on you to be the fuel in our engine. Giving to Move is 100% tax deductible, and what you give goes to the mission, which is to spread the message of Jesus and become such an integral part of this area that folks couldn’t imagine the community without us. If you’re compelled to give to a vision like that, click the button and join this journey! Whether it’s $1 or $1,000, your gift will be part of a massive movement for good.

Born in Quarantine / Tested in the Wild

So… while many of us had played together in various configurations, we started out in March 2020, lovingly referring to ourselves as “The Quarantine Band.” Our #QuarantineSessions video series was evolutionary for us as individual musicians, and it forced us to learn to play together in a totally different way… when we couldn’t get anywhere near each other.

The video above is our final video for #QuarantineSessions, and it marked the first time ever that all the people in the band had been in the same room together at the same time.

After Quarantine Sessions concluded, we decided we really liked playing in the same room as each other, so we kept doing that every time we had the chance, appearing in Elizabeth City and Norfolk in 2020.

Now we’re just making it official 😊

Drew Whitehurst - Drums

@drumming__drew__12

“Drew’s growth as a drummer has been staggering over the past year especially. When lots of other people pumped the brakes in quarantine, Drew doubled down and became better every day.

Now he is the obvious choice to be the first new member of our band as we get ready for the future. Watch this kiddo, he is going places!”

-Bill (Lead Singer, Acoustic, Piano)

“I am excited to join Move Worship because it gives me a place to call home as a musician and will provide opportunities for growth.”

-Drew (Drums)
